Cash Drawer Issues

Modified on Thu, Jan 25 at 9:01 AM

The cash drawers are linked to the receipt printer.  If a cash drawer stops functioning suddenly, the most likely culprit could be the cable connecting the cash drawer and the printer.  Most locations have a physical key that can used to open the cash drawer in the event where it stops responding to the printer.

Ensure that this cable is securely attached on both the receipt printer and the cash drawer. Sometimes unplugging and restarting the receipt printer does the trick.  Some locations have very old hardware, and their cash drawers physically no longer work regardless.  In this event, check if there is a spare cash drawer or purchase a new one.  If you need help ordering new hardware, please contact toast customer care.
